CAGR Calculator के बारे में

Your mutual fund returned 85% over 5 years. Sounds amazing, right? But that's "absolute return" — it doesn't tell you the annual rate. The CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) does: 85% over 5 years is about 13.1% CAGR. Now you can compare it fairly against a Nifty 50 index fund or an FD.

Why CAGR matters more than absolute return

If Investment A gives 100% in 5 years and Investment B gives 60% in 3 years, which is better? Absolute return says A. But CAGR says B (17.0% vs 14.9%) — because B grew faster per year. CAGR is the honest number. It strips out volatility and time differences to give you a single, comparable annual rate.

Three ways to use this calculator

Calculate CAGR: "I invested ₹1 lakh in 2019, it's worth ₹2.5 lakh in 2024 — what's my CAGR?" Answer: about 20.1%.

Calculate Future Value: "If I invest ₹5 lakh at 14% CAGR for 10 years, what will it be worth?" Answer: about ₹18.5 lakh.

Calculate Initial Value: "I want ₹1 crore in 15 years at 12% CAGR — how much should I invest today?" Answer: about ₹18.3 lakh.

How your CAGR compares

The calculator includes a benchmark comparison bar: FDs typically give 6-7% CAGR, Gold around 8-10%, Nifty 50 Large Cap around 12-14%, and Small Cap funds have historically delivered 15-22%. Your CAGR is plotted against these so you can see where you stand — though past performance is exactly that: past. Not a guarantee.
