About ToolsArena
Hey, I'm Mukesh. I started ToolsArena in early 2025 because I was tired of the same problem most people face online — you search for a simple tool like an image compressor or a JSON formatter, and you land on a site that asks you to sign up, limits your usage, or quietly uploads your files to some server you know nothing about.
I figured I could build something better. I'm a full-stack developer based in Lucknow, India, and I spend most of my time writing code anyway. So I started building these tools one by one — each one runs entirely in your browser. Your files never leave your device. There's no backend processing, no account walls, nothing like that. It's just you and the tool.
That's the part I'm most particular about. When you compress an image or convert a PDF here, the processing happens right on your machine using JavaScript. I don't see your files. I don't store them. I can't even if I wanted to — the architecture doesn't allow it. That's a deliberate choice, not a marketing line.
How This Actually Works
ToolsArena is built with Next.js and React. Every tool is a standalone client-side component — meaning the heavy lifting happens in your browser tab using Web APIs, Canvas, and libraries like pdf-lib and tesseract.js. The server only delivers the page. After that, it's all local. You can even turn off your internet after the page loads and most tools will still work.

- Your files stay on your device. Nothing gets uploaded. I built it this way on purpose — I don't want your data and I don't need it.
- It's actually free. No "free tier" that runs out after 3 uses. No premium upsells. Every tool, every feature — free.
- No account needed. You don't need to hand over your email just to resize a photo. Open the tool, use it, done.
- It's fast. Since everything runs locally in your browser, there's no waiting for server responses or upload progress bars.
