What is the difference between this and a basic Pomodoro timer?

Does the timer keep running if I switch browser tabs?

Tasks and stats are stored in your browser's localStorage, so they persist across page reloads and browser restarts on the same device. No data is ever sent to a server.

How does the ambient sound work without audio files?

Ambient sounds are synthesised in real time using the Web Audio API. White noise is generated from random values in an audio buffer; Rain and Forest variants apply low-pass and band-pass filters to the same noise to shape the texture. No audio files are downloaded.

What browsers are supported?

Any modern browser that supports the Web Audio API — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari (desktop and mobile). Internet Explorer is not supported. Browser notifications require permission grant on first use.
