How often are exchange rates updated?

Rates are fetched from the open.er-api.com free API and update every 24 hours. They are cached in your browser session so subsequent conversions are instant.

How accurate are the rates?

Rates are mid-market rates (the midpoint between buy and sell). Banks typically add a 2–5% margin on top. Use this tool for reference and planning — not for actual transaction amounts.

What currencies are supported?

Over 170 currencies are supported including INR, NPR, USD, EUR, GBP, AED, SGD, CAD, AUD, JPY, CNY, PKR, BDT, and all major global currencies.

Why is the rate different from my bank or app?

Banks and remittance services apply their own fees, margins, and interbank spreads on top of the mid-market rate. This tool shows the raw mid-market rate only.

Can I convert NPR to USD?

Yes. Select NPR as the From currency and USD as the To currency. The NRB (Nepal Rastra Bank) daily rate tool is also available for official Nepal rates.

Does this tool work offline after the first load?

Rates are cached in sessionStorage after the first fetch. If your session is active, conversions continue to work without additional network requests.

Is this suitable for business or international transactions?

This tool is for informational and planning purposes only. For actual business transactions, use your bank or a licensed forex service for precise rates.

What is the INR to USD rate today?

The current live rate is shown in the tool and updates daily. As of early 2025, 1 USD ≈ 83–86 INR, but this changes with market conditions.

What is the difference between buy rate and sell rate?

Banks use different rates when they buy vs. sell foreign currency. This tool shows the mid-market rate — the average between the two, which is the fairest benchmark.
