What DNS record types does this tool support?

Is my query data sent to any third-party servers?

Queries are sent directly from your browser to the Cloudflare DNS-over-HTTPS endpoint (cloudflare-dns.com). No data passes through ToolsArena servers.

Why does the tool strip http:// and www from my input?

DNS records are associated with domain names, not URLs. The tool automatically normalizes your input so you can paste full URLs without issue.

TTL (Time to Live) indicates how long a DNS record is cached by resolvers. A TTL of 3600 means the record is cached for 1 hour before being re-fetched.

Why might some record types return no results?

Not all domains have every record type configured. For example, a domain might have no MX records if it does not handle email, or no AAAA records if it lacks IPv6 support.

How is this different from running `nslookup` or `dig`?

What does the SOA record tell me?

Can I look up PTR records for reverse DNS?

Yes. For PTR lookups, enter the IP address in reverse-dotted notation with .in-addr.arpa appended (e.g., 1.0.168.192.in-addr.arpa), or simply enter the IP and the tool will format it automatically.

What do MX priority numbers mean?
