Are the redactions permanent?

Yes. The downloaded PDF has solid filled rectangles drawn over the redacted areas using pdf-lib. The underlying text is visually covered. For maximum security, the rectangles are burned into the PDF page content.

Is my PDF uploaded to any server?

No. All processing happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your file never leaves your device.

Can I redact specific text automatically?

Yes. Use the search feature to enter text (e.g., a name or phone number), and the tool will find and redact all matching text across all pages.

Can I undo a redaction?

Yes. Before downloading, you can undo/redo any redaction using Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z or the toolbar buttons. You can also select and delete individual boxes.

What redaction colors are available?

Black (default), white, and gray. Choose the color from the toolbar before drawing.
