Simple Interest vs Compound Interest — फर्क क्या है?

₹10,000 का investment, 10% rate, 3 साल:

Year	Simple Interest	Compound Interest
Year 1	₹10,000 + ₹1,000 = ₹11,000	₹10,000 + ₹1,000 = ₹11,000
Year 2	₹11,000 + ₹1,000 = ₹12,000	₹11,000 + ₹1,100 = ₹12,100
Year 3	₹12,000 + ₹1,000 = ₹13,000	₹12,100 + ₹1,210 = ₹13,310

3 साल में ₹310 का फर्क। 20 साल में यही ₹10,000 → Simple: ₹30,000, Compound: ₹67,275!

Compound Interest Formula

A = P × (1 + r/n)^(n×t)

A = Final amount (principal + interest)
P = Principal (शुरुआती राशि)
r = Annual interest rate (decimal में, e.g., 8% = 0.08)
n = Compounding frequency per year
t = Time in years

CI = A − P

Example: ₹50,000 at 8%, quarterly compounding (n=4), 5 years:

A = 50,000 × (1 + 0.08/4)^(4×5) = 50,000 × (1.02)^20 = 50,000 × 1.4859 = ₹74,297
CI = ₹74,297 − ₹50,000 = ₹24,297

Rule of 72 — Mental Math Shortcut

पैसा double होने में कितने साल लगेंगे = 72 ÷ Interest Rate (%)

⚠️ Inflation भी compound होती है!

6% inflation पर ₹1 लाख की purchasing power 12 साल में आधी हो जाती है। Investment return inflation से ज़्यादा होना चाहिए real wealth बढ़ाने के लिए।
